Her mission is to find the root cause of disease and dysfunction and to work with her patients in Boulder Colorado to regain their health and vibrancy, so they can be their best in the world!
Carrie has been practicing integrative, functional medicine for over 10 years in Boulder, CO. and has completed the Fellowship program for Metabolic Nutritional Medicine with the American Academy of Anti-Aging; and Metabolic Medical Institute.
She values a collaborating relationship with her patients, serving as their guide while encouraging them to take a significant role in optimizing their health. She looks beyond symptomatic relief and searches for the root cause of disease, dysfunction and poor health. Carrie takes time to sit with her patients and talk in depth about their lifestyle, environment, mind, body and spiritual connection and take them all into consideration.
Carrie Ballas, F.N.P.-C. in Boulder Colorado utilizes her advanced education with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) to help find where imbalances may be and help patients to restore those imbalances. She uses traditional labs as well as functional assessments and special testing to get to the root of the dysfunction.
Many patients find success in her treatments because she can use conventional medications when appropriate, but mostly works on education of lifestyle, diet, nutraceutical supplementation, detoxification modalities, IV chelation and nutrient replacement, just to name a few modalities.
Carrie believes in balancing health using an integrative and functional medicine approach to wellness. She combines both conventional and natural medicine, with a focus on holistic modalities, proactive prevention, comprehensive diagnosis and treatment.

Carrie is a Family Nurse Practitioner, having earned her undergraduate in nursing at the University of Iowa and her master’s in science at Regis University in Denver, Colorado in 2006. She has been in the Fellowship Program with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (now Metabolic Medical Institute) since 2008 and continues her education with them year after year. She believes in continuing education as the evolution of medicine is ever changing, challenging and exciting.
Carrie and her husband live in Boulder, CO and they enjoy entertaining, hiking, camping, trail running, travel, community and family.
